Jesus Christ: Man or Myth?

There were dozens of historians who lived in the Mediterranean throughout the supposed life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph: Aulus Perseus, Columella, Justus of Tiberius, Livy, Lucarus, Luctus Florus, Petronius, Phaedrus, Philo Judaeus, Phlegon, Plutarch, Pomponius Mela, Rufus Curtius, Quintillan, Quintus Curtius, Seneca, Silus Italicus, Theon of Smyrna, Valerius Flaccus, Valerius Maximus - None of them so much as mentioned Jesus, his family or his followers. Wouldn’t you think someone who was immaculately conceived, who performed miracles, was revered by thousands and hated by thousands more, someone who was crucified for all our sins then resurrected from death, wouldn’t he be mentioned at least once outside the bible?

“There is no credible evidence whatsoever for the existence of Jesus. No archaeological evidence, no written evidence, nothing. So it is with Solomon, Moses, David, Abraham, Samson and countless other biblical ‘stars’. All we have are the Levite texts and the Gospel stories in their various versions. So desperate did the religious manipulators become to cross reference ‘Jesus’ that they inserted a pathetically obvious addition into the works of the ‘Jewish’ historian, Josephus, to support the unsupportable. More than 40 writers are known to have chronicled the events of these lands during the alleged time of Jesus, but they don’t mention him. A guy who did all the things that he was supposed to have done and no-one records it? Philo lived throughout the supposed life of Jesus and wrote a history of the Judeans which covered the whole of this period. He even lived in or near Jerusalem when Jesus was said to have been born and Herod was supposed to have killed the children, yet he doesn’t record any of this. He was there when Jesus is said to have made his triumphant arrival in Jerusalem and when he was crucified and rose from the dead on the third day. What does Philo say about these fantastic events? Nothing.”  -David Icke, “The Biggest Secret” (100)

“We don’t want to be unkind, but we want to be factual. We don’t want to cause hurt feelings, but we want to be academically correct in what we understand and know to be true. Christianity just is not based on truth. We find that Christianity was nothing more than a Roman story developed politically.” -Jordan Maxwell, “Zeitgeist

“No scholar believes that Osiris or Jupiter or Dionysus was an historical person promoted to the rank of a god, but exception is made only in favor of Jesus.” -Edouard Dujardin, “Ancient History of the God Jesus”

Justin Martyr (100–165AD) was the first and most distinguished Roman Catholic “apologist” of Christianity. The doctrines of the new religion were so disliked and resisted at its conception, apologists tried to smooth the waves. In “The First Apology of Justin,” he argues that Christianity should be accepted because it is already so similar to existing religions.

“When we say that he, Jesus Christ, our teacher, was produced without sexual union, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven, we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding the sons of Jupiter.” -Justin Martyr, “The First Apology of Justin

Entire volumes have been written by Christians comparing Christianity with other Pagan religions. Here Justin Martyr admits the metaphorical (not literal) story of Jesus Christ is precisely analogous to pre-existing beliefs regarding Jupiter.

“And if we even affirm that He was born of a virgin, accept this in common with what you accept of Perseus. And in that we say that He made whole the lame, the paralytic, and those born blind, we seem to say what is very similar to the deeds said to have been done by Aesculapius.” -Justin Martyr, “The First Apology of Justin

Through the course of the book, Justin Martyr admits that Jesus is analogous to the sons of Jupiter, Mercury, Aesculapius, Bacchus, Hercules, Dioscuri, Perseus, and Bellerophon. He admits their immaculate conceptions, miracles, untimely deaths, and ascents into heaven as symbolically purporting the same thing. He also admits Christianity teaches the same things as poets and philosophers citing Plato, Menander, Sibyl, Hystaspes, and Stoics. Since its inception Christianity never claimed to be historical, biographical, or even original.

“The doctrine of the divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity.” - US President John Adams

“It has served us well, this myth of Christ.” - Pope Leo X

“This whole affair of which we speak and preach, and which is called Gospel, has no reference at all to any person that ever existed, or events that ever occurred upon earth” - Rev. Robert Taylor, “The Devil’s Pulpit

“The traditional history of Christianity is hopelessly inadequate to the facts. From our research into ancient spirituality it has become obvious that we must fundamentally revise our understanding of Christian origins in the most shocking of ways. Our conclusion, supported by a considerable body of evidence in our book, The Jesus Mysteries, is that Christianity was not a new revelation. It was a continuation of Paganism by another name. The gospel story of Jesus is not the biography of an historical Messiah. It is a Jewish reworking of ancient Pagan myths of the dying and resurrecting Godman Osiris- Dionysus, which had been popular for centuries throughout the ancient Mediterranean.” - Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy, “The Original Jesus

Characters are often interchangeable within the Bible itself. Joseph in the Old Testament is analogous to Jesus in the New Testament. Joseph was born of a miracle birth, had 12 brothers, one of whom, Judah, suggests the sale of Joseph for 20 gold pieces. Jesus was born of a miracle birth, had 12 disciples, one of whom, Judas, who suggests the sale of Jesus for 30 gold pieces. They both began their work at 30. Are we to believe these are literal people living remarkable, coincidental, analogous existences? Or are they personifications, symbols, metaphors representing the ancients’ wealth of astrological knowledge?

“Jews do not accept Jesus as the Christ or the Messiah. They were the ones in the Middle East; it was their country, their language and their book. If they don't accept the story, there must be a reason why.” -Jordan Maxwell, “Matrix of Power”

“Nay, not only are there no proofs of the twelve tribes of Israel having ever existed, but Herodotus, the most accurate of historians, who was in Assyria when Ezra flourished, never mentions the Israelites at all…How is this possible?” -Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, vol. 3

“It is quite exciting, incidentally, to know that the Genesis account of the creation of mankind through its first parentage in Adam and Eve bears the marks of derivation from the primary Egyptian symbolic depiction.” –Alvin Boyd Kuhn, “Ultimate Canon of Knowledge”

Genesis was an ancient sidereal myth taught to Nile temple initiates The very word Genesis means “Genes of Isis,” Isis being the Egyptian version of Mary. The word “Bible” comes from “Buka” reeds used to make papyrus (paper) which grew on the banks of the Nile in Egypt. Another name for Buka was Biblos and this is where we get Book and Bible. The similarities between the Christian and Egyptian religions are practically endless:

The incarnate trinity of Osiris, Horus and Ra, are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of Christianity. The carnate trinity Seb, Isis-Meri, and Horus are analogous to Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. Isis and Mary were both virgin mothers commanded to take their sons to Egypt for safety. Seb and Joseph were both carpenters. Seb was the custodian of the mummified dead and Joseph of Arimathea was the keeper of the Corpus Christi. Horus was born in Annu, the place of bread; Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the house of bread. Horus is the gracious child, one of five brethren, brother of Set the betrayer; Jesus is the child full of grace, one of five brothers including Judas the betrayer. Anna came with S’men who held Horus in his arms; Anna the prophetess came with Simeon who held Jesus in his arms. Anup the baptizer was the precursor of Horus, John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus. Horus and Jesus were both baptized at age 30; both called the good Shepard, walked on water and cured the blind. Seven Hathors minister to Horus; seven women minister to Jesus. Horus ascends to heaven from Bakhu, the Mount of the olive tree; Jesus ascends to heaven from Mount Olivet. Horus was the word-made-flesh who giveth light by means of his own body and Jesus the word-made-flesh was the light of the world.

Set and Horus were enemies like Satan and Jesus. Set and Horus contended in the desert on the Ben-Ben Pyramidion; Jesus and Satan contended in the wilderness on the pinnacle. Horus was carried off by Set to the summit of Mount Hetep and Jesus was spirited away by Satan into high mountains. Osiris, whom Horus loved, prays he may be buried speedily, sleeps in and is raised from the tomb in Annu; Lazarus, whom Jesus loved, begs his death be effected quickly, sleeps in and is raised from the tomb in Bethany. Then the mummy Osiris is bidden to come forth by Horus like the mummy Lazarus is bidden forth by Jesus. Petar or Petra was the Egyptian revealer to Horus; Peter was the revealer to Christ. There’s Hermes the scribe and Hermas the scribe, Mati, the registrar and Matthew, the clerk, Herrut the slayer of younglings and Herod the murderer of the innocents. Both religions symbolize the dove as the bird of the Holy Spirit. The Egyptian Mysteries are the miracles. The ritual book of resurrection is the book of Revelation. On and on it goes; the similarities between the Egyptian and Christian religions are endless: Baptism, afterlife, judgment, virgin birth, resurrection, crucifixion, ark of the covenant, circumcision, saviors, communion, flood, Easter, Christmas, Passover.

“Egyptian culture was highly influential in the creation of Judaism and Christianity, both of which carnalized and historicized much of the mythos and ritual in their scriptures. Indeed, many scholars have insisted that the Bible is entirely Egyptian …The entire Christian bible, creation legend, descent into and exodus from Egypt, ark and flood allegory, Israelite history, Hebrew prophecy and poetry, Gospels, Epistles and Revelation imagery, all are now proven to have been the transmission of ancient Egypt’s scrolls and papyri into the hands of later generations.” -Acharya S., “The Christ Conspiracy” (266)

“In reality, Christianity was the product of a multinational cabal composed of members of a variety of brotherhoods, secret societies and mystery schools, and was designed to empower and enrich such individuals and to unify their empire. To do so, these conspirators took myriad myths and rituals of virtually all the known cultures and combined them into one, producing a godman to beat them all.” -Acharya S., “The Christ Conspiracy” (289-90)

If Jesus isn't real none of the world 'scholars' will be trying to prove that he never lived/ existed as it wouldn't matter. There was and is mystery in His being alive and that's y all need to speak about him and find some sort of conspiracy in His life and work. How come so many researchers have found bloodlines evolving out of this individual not only in Europe but in Asia, etc. This myth/reality is being systematically exploited by folk who know they can cash in on the Name plus by those who r concerned in the well being of the innocent folk who believe in the Name of Jesus as their path to salvation. Definitely a lot of people conveniently ignored the life of Christ as he didn't belong to/ represent a very large population of people who really mattered. It is only after His teachings became important to many and the believers population increased did the rulers and leaders of the people find the need to take charge of who or what he represents. If Christ/ Jesus didn't exist he definitely wouldn't be important to anybody. U can see in the works of the Romans (Vatican) plus how the pagans or heathens used the name of Christ to continue their dominion over innocent folk who have something real to believe in. Most organized enterprises often take a name and capitalize on it so do other folk who really have no was to gain prominence. The real believers and followers of Christ have be persecuted for their continual perseverance in believing the facts of this great life which hasn't been made up but been used for all individuals salvation including urz.
Y cant the religious people be left to believe what they want like we do believe what v like. There was a time when some powerful people used the name of Christ to gain dominion now they will continue to use other names that will help them gain domination and power over people who they already controll by the illusion of employment, money, status, future, time, society, cyberspace, etc. and a host of other communication mediums that require people to devote time to in order to gain anything from them.

a correction: Most organized entities often take or use names of prominent people so they can be in synch with the target population, in turn gain prominence.

The fact that some people are trying to prove Jesus didn't exist doesn't prove that he does exist at all. All it proves is that some people think he exists and others are trying to prove them wrong.

I can try to prove that Santa Claus doesn't exist, but that certainly wouldn't mean he's actually real.

Torq said...

*chuckles* Excellent point Ben!

It is the false use of logic (an example of which appears above) that makes me so insistent that others (Eric, Tao) stick to valid philosophical inquiry and argument.

Eric, while you might (or might not) have a point about your "conspiracy," if you want people to really wake up, you must first convince them to believe in truth and then teach them to understand logical reasoning. Otherwise a logical fallacy can be presented, by yourself or others, and the people you are trying to awaken will have no standard for judging if it is true or false.

Anon: I am not advancing Eric's argument that Jesus did not exist, I am just saying that your own argument is invalid.

Anonymous said...

Well, if the logic is not conceivable I'm sorry... First of all the Name of Jesus has been with mankind as a link to the Creator (God)So people who don't know or believe in creation will and can only debate about His existence and never be able to come to a conclusion coz it really doesn't mean anything to them coz there is nothing they see real in His life.
For the believers who followed His word since the beginning he is still living and not limited to a stone (material) image as some would like to display to show their line of belief. The believers who spread His word around were themselves persecuted by the Romans, Jews(some) and even the organization which has a large following in His name.
Real Christians established the churches and fellowships so they could share their experiences and love they have/ had for Him.
He ( Jesus) meant nothing to the authorities and scholars of His time (whether they knew Him or not) as he did not represent the common belief of that time or the social elite who till today control much of the worlds belief system. Jesus brought hope to people who didn't have any, he spoke of things which were against the authorities and their practices. If U get to know Him personally u will realise that He is and was someone who doesn't fit in along with the people who used His name to gain the power their descendants have today for so many reason but He is still willing to accept people who ask God for anything in His name.
Christ stood out in the Synagogue questioning the authorities (remember it was an inside matter and usually such encounters r never recorded by people who loose face or those who dont know about it) and people who encountered Him knew that there was definitely a lot of truth in His name and words.
As for the conspiracy in the name and the folk who have been highlighted in the material written above, I will not totally disregard; as we can see today the people whose ancestors used the churches authority to win wars and dominion over the world do not really follow or practice any of what Jesus represented and stood for...So I repeat that the only reason one has to disprove the existence of Jesus as a human born of a virgin is to create confusion among people who believe in Him. Sadly it is being done by people who dont really know Him or what he stood for when he was alive. If he wasn't alive there will be no reason to prove he wasn't there. The reason one does it is cos they r not sure themselves so they research, sadly when u read of people who don't believe in His life / name they will definitely not promote Him/ His ideas but their own ideas coz that is what will help them be more significant. Another thing Logic doesnt really go along with religion, faith and belief.

That last comment of mine sucked, I'm deleting it and clarifying: I'm taking exception to the following statements:

"the only reason one has to disprove the existence of Jesus as a human born of a virgin is to create confusion among people who believe in Him. Sadly it is being done by people who dont really know Him or what he stood for when he was alive. If he wasn't alive there will be no reason to prove he wasn't there."

The reason is to determine Truth; the same reason anyone argues for anything. If he wasn't alive, then I might try to prove that because there are people who believe in something that is not true, and I don't want them to spend thier lives living a lie.

Don't get me wrong; I think Jesus as a figure, whether He existed or not, was a "good guy" and is a positive influence on the people He's had an influence on. This, however, does not have any bearing on whether or not He really existed. Superman was a good guy too, and he gave Jerry Seinfeld a good role model to live up to, but that doesn't mean he was real.

Also, Eric's argument: "Wouldn’t you think someone who was immaculately conceived, who performed miracles, was revered by thousands and hated by thousands more, someone who was crucified for all our sins then resurrected from death, wouldn’t he be mentioned at least once outside the bible?"

Is also does not logically indicate what Eric is pretending that it does. He is confusing the matter in several interesting ways. First he is making the assumption that the individuals who lived in the time of Jesus had the belief system of the modern Roman Catholic Church (Immaculate Conception, Crucified for our Sins, Resurrected). Two of these examples clearly have nothing to do with the historical question as they occurred after Jesus was dead. Second he is making an appeal to our sense of disbelief. Today nearly everyone has heard of Jesus so it is difficult for us to understand how it could be that people who lived at that time might not have known about him. Capitalizing on that, Eric tries to make it seem that if there are not evidences from multiple sources than the individual did not exist. There are many, many people who lived in this time frame who we have no record of at all. Does this mean that they did not exist?

*grins* reducto ad absurdum you are my only friend

Mr. Mandal said...

Well, the Bible is a compilation of writings from many sources, so I think the larger point that is being missed is that there isn't only one source we have that mentions Jesus, it's just that we've lumped the many sources into one book. This is not the same thing as having only one source.

bill said...

there is no reason at all to take either side of the debate with such fervor as i usually encounter. The fact that everybody tries to impart either the "fact all the way" or "fiction all the way" labels just belies the fact that they themselves need convincing in what beliefs they espouse. I personally think the similarities between the Egytptian and Christian beliefs are astounding. The fact that "scholars" are trying to prove that Jesus never existed does not prove in any way that he did. It is just proof of the fact that there is a clear dividing line and some researchers would like to "answer" the question for once and all....WHO WOULDN'T (It's a career maker as well as possibly turning a scholar into a legend).

I just want to put in closing that a huge push for me is the fact that very "indoctrinated" very influential people have alluded to the fact that Jesus was no more a spectacular person then the next guy BUT was given extraordinary status by the men and women who looked up to him. Time will tell and the quests will continue and maybe just maybe you or the next reader of this will find the answers....if there are any

Wow, back in high school studying greek myhthology (which was my most memorable and favorite subject), i had pondered that maybe, the Bible was just like the mythology--written by some very wise men who knew human pyschology and also tell great tales...

Fast forward, the REVERSE seems to be true now, that the Bible is the mythology---and mythology is the REAL DEAL.

I have been thinking that the Bible was written by the dark forces as their playbook to enact all their future evil deeds--when technology became available then their stories can be played out.

Indeed, with WWWIII already in play (by stealth with all those nuclear reactors located on the faultlines like New Madrid, San Andreas, Fukushima, etc), Revelations seems to be fulfilling its prophecy. But let's not forget that an area in Israel is radioactive, and legend has it that Atlantis was destroyed by nuclear means. So nuclear destruction has happened in the past, which would and could be conveniently rolled into the Revelations chapter...

Incidentally, I became fascinated with all things Egyptian since I was in 3rd grade after reading Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators in the Mystery of the Whispering Mummy.

That has become my favorite series, and vowed I would one day own the whole series. Today, I have the entire collection :)!

From this series, I have become an avid reader of mysteries, and still fascinated by all things Egyptian!

Taking the Bible seriously and literally is a big NO-NO. The whole book has to be read with cynicism in mind, because everything that it says from beginning to end has an aura of deception about it.

Oh, and as for Jesus, and whatnot - they don't matter because he is a fabrication of all the previous Sun Gods and deities of those good old days (which is right now).

Eric,

I took a look at your blog to tell you that, contrary to what was reported earlier, the last U.S. space shuttle will indeed be the Atlantis (as NATO escalates its bombing of Libya, turn to Plato to read of Atlantis, the "great empire" whose bounds reached "even to the shores of Libya.")

But I have to tell you, I'm disappointed in your post on religion. As the author of a blog, you have a duty to your readers to be better informed before presuming to teach them about something as holy as Scripture, Christianity, or religion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus

Very few people at the time of Christ could even read, let alone write.

Christ had only 12 disciples, but they stuck by him even unto death.

When someone writes a book about you, then you will know that your life was worth living.

Do you realize, why the Author chose the name "Archarya" ?

It is a name given to learned men of the Sanatan Dharma, and what she is basically talking about that Christianity is the plagiarized version of Sanatan Dharma.

The vatican square proves my point too, it is the shiva lingum.

The Title "Archarya" is given to those learned men who are also a follower of God Shiva. It is a Sanskrit/ Hindi word.

Who were the pagans that lived in the Vatican before?

Thank you for filling up all the pieces.

Do you now know where your mother civilization lies?

Not completely, but the majority of it is plagiarized.

Not believe in Jesus Christ! You might as well not believe in fairies!

You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the churches on Christmas Eve to catch Jesus, but even if they did not see Jesus, what would that prove?

Nobody sees Jesus Christ, but that is no sign that there is no Jesus Christ. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see.

Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world ;)

I think it would have caused less controversy at the time & present if Jesus just appeared after his resurrection to the Pharisees & Pontius Pilate & said " Here I am, do you believe me now?"There would have been a quick conversion of all the world religions to the teachings of Christ.

Thank you for compiling so much information on this pivotal topic. As a recovering Catholic, it is important for me to find Truth. Can you reference any reputable sources which support the theory that Josephus' passage on Jesus is an interpolation? This would be a great help to me.

So Jesus wasn't real, I get it, it's just a story about the sun passing through the 12 constellations of the zodiac. So what about the other religions and what they believe, I would like to see some blogs about what the jews, protestants or mormons believe. Whats the point? Tie it all together. If someone wants to live their life like Jesus did etc. why kill the dream, whats wrong with that, if everyone tried to live their life like the so called Jesus would this world would be a much better place.

Eric Dubay said...

I agree Anonymous, and wish everyone would try to live their life like Jesus. I never said I disliked the story of Jesus or the Bible, all I've ever said is that it's all about archetypes and mythology, not literal historical personages. As for giving me an attitude about not writing whatever it is you want me to, I do think it's entirely up to me what I choose to write about and acting like you're entitled isn't the best way to sway my good graces towards your suggestion.

I guess what I'm saying is, if I have friend that is a devoted christian who 100% believes in Jesus etc and tries to live their life according to his principles but I held in my hand 100% hard proof evidence that everything he has believed to this day as far as his religion is 100% false, should I show him the proof just so he can see the truth? And if you would answer yes than I ask you why?

Eric Dubay said...

No, it's not your responsibility to be the one who shows anyone such proof unless you want to... if you do though, don't expect him to believe you or thank you for it. People always claim they want the truth, but instead they tend to believe whatever they heard first.

I have to say in today's age of society, we really do need someone like Jesus to inspire people to be good.

As Superman was mentioned, this is why I love that character. Superman may be invincible and all this, I hear many people complain about him over this, but at the end of the day; Superman is what every human being wants to be like! Just take the new movie for example, in the trailer, it talks about a young Clark saving the kids on a school bus. "What was I supposed to do, just let them die?". Yes the character is invincible but the moral is what matters the most.

Superman gives you the image of helping people in my opinion. If you see someone that needs help in a really bad situation, what are you gonna do? Someone drowning, you going to just let them die or try to save them? I think that's the real message with the character of Superman/Clark Kent.

What bothers me is how every time we get a leader they want to compare them to Christ. I'm sure you know what I mean, as much as they call Obama "the messiah" and all these other blasphemous names to make him appear to be some holy figure, when in reality he's just another soulless psychopathic narcissist as president like the rest of them. Obama and Bush both had pretty faces and likable smiles, but in reality they turned out to be the opposite.

This is just an example that people are looking so hard for a savior, and that's why they use presidents for example, like I pointed out with the worship of Obama in the last 5 years. That's really my only problem with the churches preaching Jesus. I do love the story of Jesus and think he was a fantastic person, but they are always chanting "don't worry Jesus is coming back soon" but we have to realize no one is coming to save us, except for ourselves!!!!

WE as people have the choice in our hearts if we want to be like Jesus or heartless, it's our choice. We can't just sit here and wait our entire lives for a rapture or the arrival of Christ. I know so many people and they believe this. There's so many religious followings that have been preaching that Christ is coming back soon for hundreds of years, but what happens if he don't come back? What are you gonna do then?

We can't wait on a role model to come, we have to be our own role models and make our own choices. I love the story of Jesus myself, and I think he's a great role model, but we can't sit here waiting on him to come back, we have make moves ourselves!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF PEOPLE!

Eric Dubay said...

Gary Man, you've said it perfectly once again. We don't need any more Christians, we don't need any more Buddhists, we need more Christ's and Buddha's. We don't need any more religious followers, we need spiritual leaders, leading by example, showing the way, and inspiring others to do the same :) Peace

Eric Dubay said...

You can't prove He didnt exist just like you can't prove He did exist

No, but I can point out that Jesus is the 17th crucified godman in history, and that the other 16 were known and accepted myths, not historical figures.

That would be like having 16 versions of Superman already released, the TV series, several movies, comic books etc. then suddenly a 17th Superman came on the scene and all the kids believed he was an actual person who could literally fly and actually came from another planet.

The adults would tell the children, no, no, Superman is just a fictional archetype that's been around for decades, it's not an actual person. But then all the little kids would say, "you can't prove Superman 17 isn't real! Maybe he really can fly, walk on water, came from another planet and stuff! You don't know! I choose to believe because you disprove a negative." :)

The problem with Jesus is not that he presents us with a spiritual role model. The problem is the baggage that comes with following him. I recently had a discussion with Christians about Deuteronomy 20:16,17

"16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you."

These Christians happily argued that invasion, slaughter and genocide were compatible with God's spiritual character: genocide it seems can be a spiritual act.

It is said that the best lies contain mostly truth, and so too the "best" religions contain attractive spiritual figures, for it is the beauty of these characters that we fall in love with gladly follow. But behind the bait of spiritual leader lies a far more sinister force. I am reminded of the psychopath that lures a mate by acting as the perfect partner, only to abuse his victim when she is hooked.

Here is Pope Urban II calling for the Christians of Europe to join the crusades, and while many modern Christians would claim that the crusaders weren't Christian at all, they commit a similar crime through their support of Israel's oppression in Palestine.

“... you must apply the strength of your righteousness to another matter which concerns you as well as God. For your brethren who live in the east are in urgent need of your help.... On this account I, or rather the Lord, beseech you as Christ's heralds to publish this everywhere and to persuade all people of whatever rank, foot-soldiers and knights, poor and rich, to carry aid promptly to those Christians and to destroy that vile race from the lands of our friends. I say this to those who are present, it meant also for those who are absent. Moreover, Christ commands it.”
Pope Urban II
Speech at Council of Clermont, 1095.

No, but I can point out that Jesus is the 17th crucified godman in history, and that the other 16 were known and accepted myths, not historical figures.

That is a fallacy of origin. The origin is not evidence that can discredit a claim or thing itself.

I see a lot of people here using the "the Bible is true because it says so in the Bible" argument.

Look, nobody is telling you who or what to worship. Nobody is forcing yountomgive up your beliefs. But as this post points out, Christianity is just a continuation of old pagan religions. That's not a debatable theory, that is a fact that is painfully clear if you actually took the time to research the religion instead of just taking its teachings at face value. The thing is, "believers" will not do this because they have been taught not to question. If they do indeed decide to research the topic, all of their research will lead them to conclude that their beliefs are valid. From such a biased perspective, it's impossible to really know where the belief comes from.

You are free to believe whatever you want to, but you cannot overlook the historical development of religions like Christianity. You cannot overlook the true roots of the religion. You cannot deny that Christianity is not the first religion to use stories of virgin births, resurrections, and saviors. If you choose to do so, you are deluding yourself.

Thanks Eric! Another thing I forgot to mention is I feel they use religion way too much to turn us against one another. If you study all religions you're bound to find great things in all of them. I had a friend that did this when we were kids and it opened my eyes to a number of different things.

They manipulate this stuff so they can pit people against each other like Muslim against Christian and so on.

In some ways, I do think religion can be great to teach people right and wrong, but that's it. I don't like the whole fear element of it. I also don't like the whole cult element of the smaller groups. I used the bible to teach myself right and wrong, and it was a good thing I had it, because I really didn't have any positive role models around me growing up.

Jehovah's Witnesses was what got me to read the bible and open my mind up, and I studied under them for years. I got called a lunatic and a nutcase constantly for this, but what got me was these people never judged me or others. That's the one thing I hate about religion is the whole "you're going to hell" part of it.

I never became a Witness despite learning from them. I just couldn't join them fully, I am too open minded, and this was long before I learned the Masonic roots in their founder.

I found many great things in other religions too, mostly spirituality stuff, I found things that made sense to me.

When it comes to Superman, I feel we need characters like that to inspire people. I've had a recent obsession with Superman for some odd reason (Maybe it's the new movie coming out, it sure looks awesome!) and I feel like in a way, he's the one Super hero we can relate to more than anything cause he always has doing good on his mind. Clark Kent is an inspiration to kids to overcome things and help one another, and that's the moral of it.

In the trailer for the new movie Russell Crowe says "They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time they will join you in the sun." I think by that quote they are trying to tell you Superman is a character to relate to and follow his path.

If more people were happy with helping one another like Clark Kent does, or like Jesus, trying to help each other and do good the world would be a much better place.

The one thing I learned from reading the story of Jesus was to be happy without being rich and powerful, cause when I was a kid, that is all I wanted. I thought money was everything. Now I know it's not. I'll never be wealthy, but I'm OK with that as long as I have friends and happiness from them. Money and wealth in the end is not everything.

The American Dream is a joke of selfish narcissism. It's a shame we have Donald Trumps and Steve Jobs and these rich billionaires that they worship and choose to inspire them. Even in Superman I feel Lex Luthor represents the corporate billionaires. Who you wanna be like Clark or Lex? They show you how powerful Lex is over and over, yet also how soulless he is.

Joseph Campbell, Daniel Quinn, and Gregg Braden are all good sources for this question. When one is in the mindset which sees this question as even soliciting a factual type of debate, it can't help but become a futile discourse when finished, if ever. This is a sensitive subject to many people, which is why it must be approached with gentleness.

Eric often posts of morphogenic fields and the non-locality of consciousness. God in other words. It's all the same thing, and really only an argument of semantics. A term like "morphogenic field" and "non-locality of consciousness" are all very scientific words, and when people speak of God, it is one in the same.

When you can avoid getting caught up in whether or not they were factual, all mythologies become beautiful, and you look at them as an exploration of archetypes representing a human's psychology . From what I understand from my experience with yoga is that an idol like Jesus or Krishna, etc. is really just a symbol to teach a person devotion. Devotion to what, or whom? Jesus, Krishna, etc. all taught that we were one in the same.

Learning devotion for yourself is the same as devotion for others. It gives you incentive to practice the ten commandments or the ten yamas as and niyamas (being the first two limbs of ashtanga yoga). It gives you a code of conduct which teaches you self respect, and, ultimately, respect for others (including animals).

So if you truly understand what the mythologies are saying, it would be an understanding of Oneness rather than divide. All the mythologies talk about the human mind, and the most important lesson of love overcoming fear. Faith that no matter what, love overpowers fear in every situation if one has an understanding of the true nature of reality.

To make a mockery of any mythological figures is not only insensitive but silly. When you separate yourself from others who believe in something, you've truly missed the point. Not to say I believe Jesus was a real figure (or that he isn't for that matter).

Hey Eric,

I thought it was understood that the birth day of Jesus is never specified in the Bible and that the 25th is no less pagan than the Sunday of Easter.

If I was the devil and knew Christ was coming to earth to save humans... I would make 16 similar lies to discredit the true creator and savior. Look how easy it was to deceive all of these people.

This is my theory.. These so called aliens are hybrids .. We all have the same history because it is true. Atheist dont want to believe in God because they gave up searching for the truth. Everyone wants to know the truth. Just remember Christ teaches us to love one another as ourselves. Christians seem to get persecuted the most for this belief. We are not supposed to judge others for their is one judge. If we all lived like Jesus we would have peace on earth. Since evil exist in our hearts this will not happen until the reaping of earth. I am not saying you are wrong but I challenge you to love one another as Christ says. We don't need zeitgeist to teach us something we already know. Christ is my God regardless.

What would you do to prove your existence? Perhaps you would leave your signature within the Bible many times over.

Proof of Jesus Christ's existence actually is found within the Bible in a hidden format.

Go to http://goo.gl/38qhp and click on the flashing words "Watch / Listen".

This takes you on a 10 minute web page tour of such proof of Jesus Christ's existence, and does so via automatic web page scrolling along with complete audio coverage.

So just sit back and enjoy the show.

Jesus, Moses, David, Abraham.... all fictional fairytales... loosley modeled arround other people and myths.. Jesus = Mithra and Very loosely Caesarean Julious' son with Cleopatera who came up with the concept of the "Holy Roman Empire" in India where he fled when Rome invaded Egypt.

The goals of Christianity are no different to Romes previous official religion, Sol Invictus: to stupefy and control the masses

I can settle this argument very easily!!! Jesus represents good and lucifer represents evil. Good and evil are most definitely real, demons are real, angels are real, we are real!! So the debate about whether or not Jesus was a real person and or spirit, or lucifer has tried to flip the scrip by making him or it look like a satanic pegan symbol is irrelevant! The only thing that matters is that good and evil are real and good will triumph over evil!!!

Your article would be accurate if you replaced Christianity with Catholicism. The Roman Emperor Constantine created the Catholic religion by merging Pagan and Christian beliefs to unite the Empire. It was the Roman Catholic Church that introduced celebrating Christs Birth on 25th December (though Bible indicates his birth in Spring) Easter existed before Jesus's crucifixion, that's why he told his followers Not to mark his resurrection. The RCC have changed the Ten Commandments to allow idol worship, have changed the calendar from Luna to Solar, and changed the day of sabbeth from Saturday to Sunday. Why ?? Because the Roman Catholic Church are really Pagan Sun worshipers. The Roman Empire never fell, it just morphed into the RCC. That's why they have an obelisk in Vatican Square. This 'religion' is known today as Gnosticism (that's what the G in Freemadonary represents) New Age Movement, Astrotheology, and Luciferianism (the U.N's choice - see the mediation office at the UN HQ) this 'Religion' was known in ancient times as Mystery Babylon.
I find it suspicious that Icke, Tsarion etc, Expose the Illuminati NWO agenda (all true) but then push the religion that the elite want us to adopt. And 'really' Icke has a problem believing a man claiming to be the Son of God existed over a thousand years ago, but blood sucking peadophile reptilens are real - plus the worlds a hologram and were all about to turn into light beings once our cosmic shift happens.
So when it comes to conspiracies there's been a plan to bring in Luciferianism for a long time. How can the ruling oligarchs let the Bible guide us, when it tells us that God opposes taxation, socialism and Jesus cant stand bankers.

Mary isn't a main character in the Bible.
Yes she's a virgin when she had Jesus, but she and Joseph then went on to have more children and they weren't from immaculate conception. The Virgin and son that the Romens worshipped was Isis & Horus. Or as they were known in the old testament Simiranis & Tammuz.

In those ancient times, there was a man named Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah's son named Ham.Ham had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis.Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him "Nimrod."After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King. The Bible tells of of this man, Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: "And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar."

Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon.Nimrod was eventually killed by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom.Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found. That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called "Baal", the sun god.
Queen Semiramis also proclaimed that Baal would be present on earth in the form of a flame, whether candle or lamp, when used in worship.Semiramis was creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, she set herself up as a goddess.
Semiramis claimed that she was immaculately conceived.

The signature of Jesus Christ/God is encoded within the Bible.

Go to http://goo.gl/38qhp and click on the flashing words "Watch / Listen". This takes you on a web page tour of proof of Jesus Christ's existence, and does so via automatic web page scrolling along with complete audio coverage. It lasts about 10 minutes.

Because blind faith can go either way.

And people either take this seriously or not at all.

Question is: Do we really need salvation outside of ourselves?

So someone scribbled "for the kingdom of God is within you" long after the alleged Christ lived (or alleged to have lived).

Works for some, doesn't work for others.

I think the greatest "sin" of all is ignorance. The next is fear.

Both of which churches rely on, so they can have an unthinking controllable "flock". They're the boss that way.

Who cares? We've always had people who think for themselves and people who don't. We've always had people with good ideas and silly ones. history is also a lie covering a truth wrapped in an enigma the secret of which is found in a Big Mac for some, and arduous, exhausting research for others. Don't expect all to believe because some of them refuse to believe, despite of, and contrary to, the evidence.

I've read that what the consciousness believes will eventually turn into a reality. So people can create their own hell. or heaven. or donut shop with all the colors of the rainbow.

I'm taking a walk to freshen up my "soul" (some people say I don't have one, so I created one for myself).

Point is, we don't have to be divided on this issue. Division is what the elites like. Easier to rule, easier to kill (Agenda 21--5 Billion more to go! Yippee!).

Actually, Jesus was a king of Edessa.

Why is Jesus missing from the historical record? Jesus was an influential king (the King of the Jews) and probably the most famous monarch of the last two millennia, so why cannot we find archaeological evidence for his life? The answer is that both historians and theologians have been looking in the wrong location and era.

Following 25 years of research, Ralph Ellis has discovered that Jesus was a prince of Edessa in northern Syria. According to the Syriac historians, the Edessan monarchs were Egypto-Parthian Nazarene Jews, who furnished the Temple of Jerusalem and saved Judaea from starvation during a great famine of '47. But, just like Jesus, they were also religious and political revolutionaries who tried to take control of Judaea during the Jewish Revolt, but were thwarted by the Roman Army. Thus there are many links and similarities between the biblical accounts and the princes and kings of Edessa.

In addition, one of the princes of Edessa had the same names as Jesus. (The famous N.T. prophesy was deliberately devised to encapsulate the true name of Jesus.)

The Biblical monarch was called ……. King Jesus EmManuel.
The Edessan monarch was called …... King Izas Manu(el).

And all of the Edessan monarchs wore a plaited Crown of Thorns. The biblical Jesus was crucified wearing this exact same plaited Crown of Thorns and purple royal robe, because he was this very same prince and king of Edessa.

Following 600 pages of evidence, we now know who Jesus was, where he lived, and who his family were. Visit his city, see the ruins of his citadel, gaze upon his statue, handle his coins. In reality, Jesus was a son of King Abgarus au Kama of Edessa, a minor princeling with a small realm, a large treasury, and even bigger ambitions. But the so-called Wise Prince of northern Syria came up against an intractable Rome, and his many plans crumbled to dust. Josephus Flavius then records that this revolutionary prince of Edessa was crucified outside Jerusalem, along with two other leaders of the revolt, but he was reprieved and taken down from the cross by Josephus Flavius (of Arimathaea?). A familiar story?

This is a scholarly study of all the available historical evidence, including the Tanakh, Talmud, Josephus Flavius, the Roman historians, and venerable Syriac historians like Moses of Chorene and Yohannes Drasxanakertci.

Sincerely,
Ralph

Krishna washed the feet of his devotee and friend Sudama. Did you see anything in the news lately about feet wash.

Devaki was avatar of Aditi. Aditi is considered a virgin goddess. So Krishna can be considered to be born from a virgin goddess Aditi-Devaki. Krishna is also known as Upendra, brother of Indra, Aditi's son.

Ankh is considered to be related to cross. It is also a symbol of Venus. Ironically, Shukra is the god of Venus and an expert in resurrection ha ha. The irony isn't it, teacher of ....

Jesus's story is said to be also connected to Horus. Horus is actually Garuda, vehicle of Krishna.

Seth drives Ra's chariot like Aruna drives Surya's chariot. Horus is associated with book of the dead. Gardua is associated with book of the dead Garuda Purana.

There is also another bird figure Anzu from sumeria who is also Garuda. Anzu, servant of Enlil steals the tablet of destiny. Ninrutha chases him with thunderbolts. Garuda, servant of vishnu steals elixir of immortality. Indra chases him with thunderbolts.

Hi

I've read your stuff and watched your videos. To say I'm intrigued is an understatement. However trying to research the claims is difficult especially for an illiterate historian.

However do you or have you got a reference to the claims ??

I'm going to watch the video again tomorrow but I am drawn to the notion that Christianity was born out of many religious faiths trying to come together. That seems a plausible solution that given the way the world is perceived to be at that time.

Taking it all literally seems a bit harsh on the mind but the idea that 2000 years ago a religion was created because they all kinda sorta beloved knghe same sorta stories and they decided to bring it all together ??? Maybe

I'd just like tos we here these allegations have some merit. It's great to hear and read one version but to then research and see if is true is a hard task when you have a 9-5 and kids 🤔
